Broken covenants
“I gave you an assignment in Galilee 2,000 years ago. I command you to make disciples of all nations. I made that assignment very clear in Lausanne in 1974. I made known to you that there were still over two billion precious people living in thousands settlements where there are no churches to disciple them.”
“At that time you declared your deep sorrow for neglecting these people. You covenanted to develop a simple lifestyle. You have not sacrificed at all. You have changed your lifestyle. Yes you have made it more luxurious.”
“But it is only a light thing fir you to disregard a covenant with the Almighty God. For you do not teach nor do you understand the fear of God, which would be the beginning of your wisdom. I do not say that all of you transgressed this covenant; for there have been some who have dilligently worked to reach the nations for me and have sacrificed much. But most of my Church has only trifled with reaching the perishing unreached nations…”
“…I have blessed you with over 100 times the money necessary to complete this assignment, 100 times the young people you would need for personnel, health and strength, all the leisure time you would need for prayer, plus extra-ordinary technology. I tell you I have given you 100 times more resources than you would need to finish my assignment by the year 2000. It can be done! How I wish you ached to get it done as I do, but you have robbed me and used the resources on yourself. Since you use almost all the money I give you on big church buildings, big homes and fine things for yourselves, I am getting ready to plunge you into deep financial distress…”
Finishing the Task – bringing back the King

My return can only be hasten by completing my assignment to reach all people with the gospel. ” I said that I have given you 100 times the resources to finish this task by the year 2000. But this is possible only if you, my Church, earnestly desire it.”
“Your adversary the devil and his hosts will fight against you with hatred and fury as you seek to reach the remaining unreached people. He knows that when this task is finished, his end has come.”

How can the world be evangelized within one generation before Jesus returns for his bride? There is a way.” –T.L. Osborn
Some years back T.L. Osborn proffered a solution that could be used as a tool for world evangelism. He even celebrated it. You may be asking what was this proffered solution? The answer is the printed page. He didn’t know that a more powerful tool was on its way coming as complete multimedia tool. That tool is the Internet. It comprises TV, Radio, Print and Telephone VOIP(Voice Over Internet Protocol). I am of the opinion that the extraordinary Technology emphasized in the prophecy at Manila is Information Technology. The Internet.
It brings out vividly the points that the great evangelist T.L. Osborn published. He wrote that “through extensive travel and ministry in over fifty countries I have proven beyond doubt that one of the most effective ways to carry out the Great Commission is by means of the printed page. It has been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. This is true. Equally, true is that the pen is mightier than the human voice! He further wrote that the written word is a “printed word” that can go where the human voice cannot.”
The Internet is more economical and has no passport or visa problems. It leaps language barriers and is never influenced by social prejudice. It can sail the oceans, trek the deserts and trudge the jungle footpaths of every continent on earth through PDAs and Laptops. Words cannot tell how powerful this Technology is.
It can penetrate crowded cities and reach sparsely settled countrysides, entering sophisticated mansions and village cottages alike. It can tell its story in home or shop in factory or field.
The Internet knows no fear and flinches in the face of no man. That’s why the Porn world are sucked into it. It never loses its temper and never retaliates in anger. It takes no note of scoffs, dears or insults. It never tires, but works 24/7/365.25 days, even while we are asleep. It is never discouraged, but tells its story over and over again. You don’t need to pray for boldness to express yourself because it helps you to say it. The Internet will deliver the same message to rich and poor, king and commander. It will speak to one as willingly as to multitudes to a multitude as readily as to one. It always catches a person in just the right mood to be receptive for it only speaks as he chooses to listen. It can be sent messages, received, listened, watched, read and studied in secret. It gets undivided attention (if not for some irritating pup-ups that needs to be dealt with using pop-up stopper, pop-up killer etc.)
It speaks different languages with the help freetranslation.com, InterTran system (www.systranet(dot)com) (www.tranexp(dot)com). The Internet is more permanent than the human voice. It never compromises and never changes its message. It continues to speak and make its message plain, long after audible words have been forgotten and their sounds has faded. It will witness and influence long after the author has died. Think of the Bible on the Internet a complete Bible website. Oh the wisdom of God! Oh the wonder of the Internet!
If only T.L. Osborn knew about the advent of the Internet he would have blessed it with his prayers and charge the church to be a rabid evangelist of the media-the internet.
He prayed that “May God grant that you, too, will become a preacher to millions through the power of the printed page” I crave your indulgence to change the phrase “printed page” to “Internet-the new media.”
In over fifty countries I have never seen a person toss aside one of our gospel tracts. On the contrary, I have seen them fight over them many times when there were not enough for everyone. Millions of hands are reaching to us for these printed morsels of the bread of life –T.L. Osborn.
I close with these few words: if only you know the havoc that pornography is wrecking through the Internet, you will not hesitate to embrace this new media-the Internet. Jesus is coming soon. The King of Kings.
A summary of Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa’s work, from Nigeria
Even Papa Idahosa (Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa) of blessed memory who celebrated the power of the media in his days would have taken a very good advantage of this new media (the internet). He bragged of being the first to introduce T.V. Broadcast in Nigeria and also affected the TV media of Ghana with the goodnews of Jesus Christ. I believe that God wants the new generation to express their gifts and calling too so that the old generation will not cover the brightness of their rising.
Idahosa bragged covering 1.1 million nautical miles in 1996. Traveled to 28 countries in one year. He has spent at least $200,000 dollars for tickets in one year.
He bragged with all humility that no preacher in Africa, South of the Sahara has done with cash for God what he has done, no mixing, no magu-magu no wayo. Use God’s method to do his job.
“Don’t be customary be a discoverer”. In other words take advantage of new opportunities. He trained in 27 years 10,146 preachers sent to 104 nations; he was used of God to establish over 6,000 churches. He had 89 major building projects with the cheapest costing a million naira.
“His ability for my inabilities or necessities.” Was the title of a message that he once preached tying it to Eph.3: 20. His crusade in Russia was carried by BBC live, and has been on BBC several times. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us Eph 3: 20.
The wonder of a new media, the wonder of the Internet on GNU/Linux technology & Philosophy. God wants to raise Bezaleels and Aholiabs to build an ark on the V-church, yes! A Tabernacle that the body of Christ will be able to fellowship together around the world. One body, one Baptism, one lord, one faith, one spirit, one hope of your calling, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all…till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:1-44).
Though Archbishop B. Idahosa has bowed out of the scene, we saw another man of God doing more fascinating things for God. He is Bishop David Oyedepo, he built a mega structure and university within a very short time not to forget mentioning Pastor E.A.Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God, who by the grace of God has affected so many lives for God through the planting of many parishes and TV broadcast. But then, the goodnews is that the future holds better promises for the Church and the World. Just watch out!
